The flap is made from 1/4" thick, clear Plexiglas and will withstand any amount of chewing. The frame is constructed from 3/16" welded aluminum. 

In addition, the Gun Dog Heavy Duty Dog Door uses 2 sets of strong, spring loaded hinges, which allow the door to re-close after a dog has passed through. 

The flap design is considered a 2-piece flap. When a dog exits through the Gun Dog Heavy Duty Dog Door, it will raise both the Plexiglas flap, and the surrounding frame. when a dog re-enters, they only lift the inner Plexiglas flap. This kennel dog door has been tested in several kennel environments, and has withstood the harsh climate of Northwestern Minnesota for several years.

Optional Closing Panel

We are pleased to offer an optional closing panel (at an additional cost) with the Gun Dog Heavy Duty Dog Door. The optional closing panel prevents dogs from entering or exiting through the pet door when the closing panel is in place. 

The closing panel includes (2) Heavy Duty Extruded Aluminum Side Rails, and (1) 1/4" HDPE Polypropylene Panel. The panel is 14" wide by 20" tall, large enough to cover the opening for a Gun Dog Heavy Duty Dog Door.
