Bark Collars

Bark Collars and Anti-Bark Devices are effective tools to help stave off excessive barking. By using a Bark Collar to help get your dogs excessive barking under control, you are not only eliminating a nuisance in your life, you can be sure the neighbors appreciate it too! All the Bark Collars and Anti-Bark Devices we carry at Two Brothers are safe for dogs.

There are several different styles of Bark Control, and all seem to be effective. Some Bark Collars use a direct contact stimulus (static correction, spray burst, vibration) to interrupt barking, while other styles use tones and high pitches (Sonic & Ulra-Sonic tones) to distract dogs from barking. Some dogs are more prone to barking simply by breed, or can be very stubborn. In these instances it is likely that a Bark Collar utilizing a static correction will be most effective. However, if you have smaller dogs, or dogs that are just simply hyper-active, a spray, or tone correction Bark Collar may work just fine. Keep in mind, that expecting a dog to never bark, is not realistic.

Ultimately, one style of Bark Collar will work better for a particular dog than another. Unfortunately, there is no exact science to curbing excessive barking, so don\'t be surprised if you find one method works better than another.

In-Ground Fences

In-Ground Fences are a great alternative for situations where an actual physical barrier or fence is not practical. Additionally, an In-Ground Fence works great in conjunction with a Pet Door, giving your pet the ultimate freedom to come and go and explore an area of your yard that you designate. The low maintenance and easy installation of an In-Ground Fence add up to tremendous savings when compared to a traditional fencing.

How Does an In-Ground Fence Work?

An In-Ground Fence is essentially made of two components, the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter is a stationary unit that plugs into a standard wall outlet. The transmitter is attached to the perimeter wire put in-ground, and emits a radio signal that travels through the perimeter wire. The Receiver (or Collar), worn by your pet picks up the radio signal, and issues a correction or stimulus as your pet nears the perimeter.

The boundary consists of three parts, the Passive or Safe Zone, the Warning Zone, and The Static Correction Zone as depicted in the diagram on the right. The Passive Zone is your pet\'s area to explore and move around in freely.

As your pet moves closer to the perimeter wire they will enter into the Warning Zone, where often times they will receive a vibration or auditory correction. This is an early effort to warn your pet they are close to the boundary and should move away.

If your pet continues to move through the Warning Zone, they will enter the Correction Zone, where the corrective stimulus is triggered. At this juncture your pet will received the static correction and withdraw away from the boundary back into the Passive Zone.

Some In-Ground Fencing Systems have what is referred to as Run Through Prevention which is an added security measure to keep your pet contained within the set boundary. This feature is designed for pets that seem more prone to testing the boundary. As the Pet moves through the warning zone and into the correction zone, your pet received the programed correction. Once your pet gets approximately 1/3 through the Correction Zone a second correction, at the highest level is issued to the pet, even if its a higher level correction than what the system is programed to.

Wireless Dog Fences

Wireless Dog Fencing Systems are great for pet owners currently renting a home without a fenced in yard, or In-Ground Fence. Typically Wireless Dog Fences are very easy to set up and use right away. Additionally, Wireless Dog Fences are a great solution for traveling, as they are very portable giving you piece of mind when you travel with your pets because you know they are safe. Essentially all you do is put the collar on your pet and plug in the transmitter.

Some Wireless Dog Fences can be combined to create a larger safe area for your pets. Wireless Dog fences are virtually escape-proof as your dog receives a mild correction once they enter the forbidden zone, until they return back to the safe zone.

If the safe zone created by one Wireless Dog Fence is not large enough it maybe possible to purchase an addtional Wireless Transmitter to create a safe zone that is twice as large. Also, you can postion the Wireless transmitters indoors, to keep them protected from the elements, because Wireless Dog Fences work through your walls.

Most In-Ground Fences come with about 500 Ft of 20 Guage Boundary Wire. If you elect to place the wire on top of the ground, we strongly recommend upgrading to Heavy Duty 18 Gauge Wire. Additionally, 500 ft boundary wire will fence in up to 1/4 acre. So for larger yards will be necessary to purchase additional spools of boundary wire. Many of our boundary wire spools are packaged with additional boundary flags, but you can also purchase them separately to get exactly what you need.

We offer the Boundary Wire in both the standard 20 gauge thickness and in a more heavy duty 18 gauge thickness. The heavy duty 18 gauge wire has an additional hard coating on the wire which makes it more durable and longer lasting. Additionally, we carry the Pre-twisted wire to create safe zones in your boundary for your pets to pass through freely without receiving a correction.

You will also find other accessories, like the Boundary Wire Break Locator and and Waterproof Wire Splice Tubes for fixing breaks. These items are a great help in maintaining your In-Ground Fence to help it last a lifetime.
