How To Measure for a PetSafe Deluxe Patio Pet Door

How to Measure for an Ideal Patio Pet Door

Generally, the PetSafe Patio Pet Doors are designed to fit most all sliding glass door systems. However, there is no guarantee that they will fit with every brand of sliding glass door, as there is not such thing as a standard patio door. In order to best ensure you order the correct size Ideal Patio Pet Door, we strongly recommend you measure you sliding glass door (opening) in the following manner.

Open your sliding glass door and measure the overall height from the deepest point in the track at the bottom to the highest point in the track at the top. It is important  that you measure from the very bottom of the channel on the floor to the very top, inside channel at the top of your sliding door opening. Then with this height, you will be able to determine which height range/model you need. The range identified on a given patio pet door model is the minimum and maximum height that the particular model can accommodate.

Additionally, you should measure the width (from top view) of the rail that your sliding glass door slides on. In most cases, this rail is 1/4" in width or less. If this is the case you can use just about any patio pet door. If the rail on the bottom track is wider than 5/8", then the Pet1 Product Patio Panel is your best option.
